Ravenscroft senior Alex Darcy ’22 signed her athletic scholarship and a National Letter of Intent today. She will attend Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and join the Division I women’s soccer program, part of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Alex has played soccer for the past 13 years. She relocated from Massachusetts in 2018, where she played for FC Stars’ top Elite Clubs National League team and went to the National finals, finishing in second place. In Raleigh, Alex played for the NCFC Elite Clubs National League, where she became a co-captain and the team’s high scorer and was named to the ECNL Mid-Atlantic All-Conference Team. For the past three years, Alex has played with the NC Courage Academy in the Elite Clubs National League.
Alex played for Ravenscroft’s varsity soccer team her freshman year, during which she was the highest-ranked freshman scorer in the division and helped propel the Ravens to a 14-4 record and an appearance in the NCISAA Semi-Finals. She was named to both the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association All-State and the Triangle Independent Schools All-Conference teams for her achievements.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to play Division I soccer and very much look forward to joining my new teammates at Fairfield University next fall,” Alex said.
Ravenscroft will host additional NLI signings on Feb. 2, 2022, and April 13, 2022, followed on April 28 by a Senior Athlete Celebration recognizing all Ravens athletes going on to play in college.
