Athletic Director Ned Gonet has announced Jeff Robinson as the new head coach for the boys golf program.

Robinson played golf at NC State before embarking on a career as a professional that has included competition in Carolinas PGA tournaments. He was a low qualifier and played in the 1981 North Carolina Open. He has since worked at numerous golf clubs, including at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary as their head professional, and was the owner and operator of Capital Golf Center in Wake Forest. He is also a certified club fitter and repair technician.

He has coached a number of outstanding junior, high school and college players.

“I am so looking forward to the opportunity to coach the boys golf team at Ravenscroft,” he said. “My goal is to develop champions on and off the golf course. You can't beat the person that never gives up.”

Robinson will take the lead in a strong program that has enjoyed great success, with eight state championships since 1983 and an unbroken string of conference championships between 2007 and 2018.

“We are very fortunate to hire Jeff Robinson to serve as our boys golf coach, as he brings tremendous experience as a player, coach and instructor. He has worked at many of our local clubs and instructed golfers of all levels to help them improve their game,” Gonet said. “I am confident he will be a great addition to our athletic staff and provide our golfers with a solid experience.”
