The Class of 2024 kicked off the week of their graduation from Ravenscroft with an official welcome by the Alumni Association. Seniors enjoyed a class dinner, held in the Olander Center for Student Life at the A.E. Finley Activity Center, and heard from both faculty and staff and several of the thousands of alumni whose ranks they are about to join.
The event was emceed by Head of Upper School Aaron Sundstrom. Both Head of School Doreen Kelly and Senior Dean Ali Olney spoke fondly to students about where they’ve been and where they’re going. Bill Moss ’74, Alumni Council vice president Janie Smith Brooks ’98 and Sahib Singh ’17 also shared memories and reflections on what it means to be a Raven.
Seniors also received their yearbooks and their class scarves, designed by the senior class officers in partnership with the Office of Alumni Engagement.
Moss — whose class, the first to attend all four years of high school at Ravenscroft, is celebrating their 50th reunion this year — said of the event, “When I looked out at the Class of 2024, it struck me just how proud of this group the Falls of Neuse campus founders would be when they considered how their vision and hope for the new campus and school had been fulfilled.”
