The 2024-25 Fine Arts Booklet, produced by the parent-led Fine Arts Association, has won Gold in the 2024 Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards.
According to their website, the Service Industry Advertising Awards, now in its 22nd year, recognize the advertising excellence of service-industry providers. More than 1,000 entries were received this year. Ravenscroft’s submission won in the Publications category.
The Fine Arts Department has worked with parent volunteers to produce the booklet since the 1993-94 school year. It includes programmatic information, a calendar of events, photos of the school’s fine arts groups in all three divisions, and advertisements from local businesses and organizations that support the fine arts at Ravenscroft. The cover and sample spreads are shown at right. A digital version of the full booklet is on the Ravenscroft website.
This year’s booklet was submitted to the SIA Awards by FAA volunteer Jenny Taylor, who spearheaded the project. Taylor, a marketing and communications professional, noted that this award is “a pretty big honor.”
“Ravenscroft Fine Arts programs are crucial to developing future artists, so it’s always an honor to help bring this annual effort to life. Our team made sure the publication would be a window into the amazing accomplishments and participation by reflecting our students’ and faculty’s passion, showcasing the events they organized, and, most importantly, celebrating the work of our talented students,” Taylor said. “Caroline Wisner’s graphic design and layout made the booklet’s stories shine brighter, and [longtime FAA volunteer] Simon Capell’s photography captured the essence of the program.
“We also couldn’t have done any of this without the support and direction of [Fine Arts Administrative Coordinator] Elisabeth McChesney,” she added. “I’m truly grateful for the SIA Awards’ recognition for design excellence from service industry providers.”
FAA president Tiffany Brooks emphasized the role the booklet plays in promoting the school’s top-notch fine arts programming, both internally and to the broader community.
“Ravenscroft is so fortunate to have the legacy of the Fine Arts booklet,” she said. “Not only does it encapsulate the strong arts program at Ravenscroft, it serves as a wonderful tool in showcasing the school’s programs beyond our walls.”
Congratulations to Taylor, Brooks and the Fine Arts Association on this well-deserved honor.
