The varsity girls soccer team finished their regular season undefeated with a 5-0 victory over Durham Academy on May 5, bringing their record to 17-0. The performance earned the team the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference Championship and a #3 seed in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association championship tournament.

The Ravens have been led offensively this season by Alex Darcy ’22 (85 points on 32 goals and 21 assists), Olivia Hitt ’23 (62 points on 26 goals and 10 assists) and Logan Smith ’26 (44 points on 15 goals and 14 assists). Ellie Roberts ’22, Carter Anderson ’23, Mia Strazzella ’23 and goalie Autumn Campbell ’24 have anchored the middle and defense, earning 10 shutouts on the season for the Ravens.

Coach Rob Smith, in his first year with the team, said, “I am very proud of this group for the hard work and dedication they have put in all season. We have had some amazing individual performances this season, but the team aspect of the game has been on full display throughout. To win a championship is always a goal, but to do it in the manner we have accomplished this year is a testament to these amazing student-athletes.”

The team has since turned its attention to preparing for the state tournament, which begins for them this Saturday with a home game.

“We feel that we have a great team and flexibility with our personnel, which hopefully can allow us to make a run in the playoffs,” Smith said. “As I told the players, the new season has just begun and now we need to keep winning and do our best to bring another trophy back to Ravenscroft.”
