The Ravenscroft Boys’ and Girls’ Track & Field teams competed in the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference (TISAC) Championship Track Meet at Cary Academy, May 9-10. The Girls’ team finished first overall with 118 points, and the Boys’ team placed second overall with 75 points.

Head Coach Gabrielle (Gab) Brown’s team set three new school records in the meet. The Girls 4 x 200 relay of Azera LaGuerre ’27, Eve Caudill ’25, Katie McClurken ’25, and Madison Young ’29 with a time of 1:48.00, breaking the old record of 1:48.63 set in 2021. The Boys 4 x 200 relay of Leven McConahay ’25, Edan Landkof ’25, Robby Grant ’26, and Thor Vilosee ’26, with a time of 1:31.52, broke the old record of 1:31.96 set in 2013. Henry Baker ’26 in the 1600m with a time of 4:20.12, breaking his previous record. Both teams will compete at Charlotte Country Day School in the 2025 NCISAA DIVISION I Track & Field State Championships, May 16-17.

Head Coach Gab Brown, who is in her first year leading Ravenscroft Track & Field, said, “This season, we emphasized consistent effort, technical precision, and mental preparation — and it all came together spectacularly during the championship meet.  Our journey to the top was built on depth and versatility. Every event mattered, and every athlete contributed. Whether it was dominating performances in the sprints, commanding efforts in the distance events, or strategic excellence in field disciplines, our girls rose to the occasion repeatedly.  Relay handoffs went off with exact precision, which showed when our girls’ 4 x 200 crushed the school record with an alternate who stepped up at the last minute.  With back-to-back Conference Championships, I’m genuinely proud of our girls’ team.  We have less than a week to prepare for the weekend State Championship Meet.  Go Ravens!”
