The 27th annual Golf Classic took place on Monday, Nov. 6, a beautiful fall day that saw 164 golfers — including 19 alumni — come out in support of Ravenscroft Athletics.
North Ridge Country Club was host to the event. As is the tradition, the morning started with a putting competition before the shotgun start sent a caravan of more than 80 golf carts off to the greens. Participants also had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes.
Planning committee members Patricia Edwards, Jennifer Fanning and Tammy Haywood were joined by more than 30 volunteers who helped the day run smoothly. “We also want to thank Assistant Athletic Director Grace Edwards for all of her efforts that went into making this event so successful!” they said.
RAC president Kari Shoemaker said, “The tournament was a very special day for all who were involved. We could not have asked for more perfect weather, and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to all of our sponsors and those businesses that contributed to our successful raffle.”
Proceeds from the Golf Classic directly benefit student-athletes of all ages at Ravenscroft, supporting the coaching staff, player development and program enhancements.
