There was a palpable sense of excitement on campus throughout the first week of October, as Ravenscroft celebrated Homecoming 2025. The annual tradition was an opportunity for students, their families, faculty and staff members across each division to come together for a wide range of activities.

Students and faculty fully embraced spirit week themes – from wearing green and gold, to favorite colors and wacky Wednesday, even Head of School Derrick Willard joined in on the “pajama day” fun. The energy and anticipation culminated in an all-school pep rally on Friday. Students from each division were welcomed to Warner Arena by Ravenscroft cheerleaders and the pep band set the mood as the entire school celebrated its fall athletes, honored the homecoming court, played games, and watched the JV and Varsity Cheerleading teams perform. 

On Friday afternoon, the Ravenscroft community came together to cheer on the JV Boys Soccer, JV Volleyball, Varsity Girls Tennis, Varsity Boys Soccer, Middle School Boys Soccer, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Field Hockey, and Varsity Cheerleading and Varsity Football teams – that all had home competitions. 

Ravenscroft’s parent groups, led by the Ravenscroft Athletic Club (RAC), hosted a tailgate that included bounce houses, food trucks, a DJ, and more, leading up to the Varsity Football game against South Wake High School. The homecoming court – Upper School students in each grade, who were voted on by their peers – were recognized at halftime. Cashier Brooks ‘26 and Margaret Zaytoun ‘26 are the two students selected as senior honorees. The Ravens went on to defeat South Wake by a score of 43 to 14. 

Due to weather earlier in the week, the ninth- and 10th-Grade Ultimate Frisbee Championship, and the 11th- and 12th-Grade Girls’ Football Championship games were rescheduled to Wednesday, Oct. 8. Yes, the senior team did clench the football championship this year.
