Athletic Director Ned Gonet has announced that Gabrielle (Gab) Brown has been hired as the school’s new head coach for winter and spring track & field.
“Coach Gab brings a wealth of experience, having coached locally at Millbrook and Enloe high schools. At Millbrook, the team won back-to-back state championships, and her top two sprinters represented the USA for the U20 team,” Gonet said. “Currently, she coaches with the local Track Xplosion Youth Club organization where, over the last eight years, she has coached four national champions and helped 15 athletes achieve All-American status.”
Brown graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, with a degree in business administration. She received her master’s in public administration from Strayer University.
She also holds USA Track & Field Level 2 and North Carolina High School Athletic Association Level 3 certifications.
Brown shared a quote — “A coach’s worth isn’t found in their win/loss record or on their resume but in the impact they make on their players' lives” — that sums up her coaching philosophy, adding, “I’m excited to be able to coach the athletes at Ravenscroft.”
“We are excited to have Coach Gab join our team and look forward to her positive impact on our track and field program,” Gonet said.
