After a competitive national search, Ravenscroft is excited to announce Dr. Ryan Holleman as its next Director of Athletics. Holleman currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif. He will take the helm of Ravenscroft Athletics Department on July 1, 2026.

“We are honored to welcome Ryan to Ravenscroft and back to North Carolina,” said Head of School Derrick Willard. “Ryan’s experience at the collegiate level will lead Ravenscroft to its next generation of athletic excellence. He is uniquely qualified to give our student-athletes an edge in today’s shifting athletic environment.”

Holleman has worked as an athletic trainer for the University of Nebraska, High Point University, and N.C. State University. A hallmark of Holleman's tenure at Santa Clara is his dedication to student-athlete wellbeing. He currently leads all student-athlete health, wellness, and performance units, managing a collective operational budget exceeding $1 million and overseeing 24 full-time employees. Outside of his role at Santa Clara, Holleman is actively involved in the development of young athletes, serving in coaching roles for youth softball and baseball.

“My passion has always been to make a difference in the lives of the students I’m able to work with,” Holleman said. “I am eager to marry this passion with my collegiate experience to prepare our student-athletes for success in sport and beyond.”

Holleman earned his undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University in Athletic Training. He holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska and a Doctor of Athletic Training Degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University.
