Following its first meeting of the new academic year, Ravenscroft is pleased to announce new members of the Board of Trustees for 2026-27. As spelled out by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), trustees are the custodians of the school, holding “in trust” the mission and school’s reputation. They are called upon to contribute their time, thought and energy, as well as financial resources, to support the viability and growth of the school.

The board welcomes new trustees Michael Anderson ’98, Thilo Hessler, Travis O’Quinn, Maryrose Sylvester and Jacqueline Wolborsky.

The board also extended its gratitude to outgoing members: Geoff Krouse, Demetris Cheatham, Satish Mathan and Amir Mehr for their service and dedication to the Ravenscroft community.

Michael Anderson ’98

A Raleigh native, Anderson is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Anderson Automotive Group headquartered in Raleigh. Anderson earned a B.A. in Management Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and an MBA from the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. Anderson has two children, Charlie ’32, and Mary Wells, and two stepchildren, Coco and Leighton, with his wife, Katherine. 

Thilo Hessler

In 1998 Hessler moved to the United States and founded Versatrim, a molding company. Hessler grew  Versatrim from a small wood shop company into the leading brand in the flooring industry. In 2021, Hessler sold the company to shift his focus toward spending time with family and restoring neglected commercial buildings. Hessler proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2025. 

Travis O’Quinn

O’Quinn is a Senior Managing Director and Regional Director for Truist Investment Services, Inc., where he leads Truist Wealth’s Private Client Group and Investment Services Group across North Carolina. O'Quinn has more than two decades of experience in wealth management, and has spent 20 years at Truist. O’Quinn earned a B.S. in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Buffalo and a MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a graduate of the Truist School of Banking at Wake Forest University. O’Quinn and his wife, Tynesha, have two children, Sarai ’27 and Daniel ’30.

Maryrose Sylvester

Sylvester currently serves on the board of directors for Harley-Davidson, Waste Management, Vontier, and Flex. She also serves on the board of several private equity portfolio companies and as Vice Chair at Large for Foundation Fighting Blindness. Maryrose began her career at General Electric, spending the first 15 years in supply chain and product management roles. Maryrose spent the second half of her GE career as President and CEO of several businesses. Maryrose is the mother of Jules (24), Ella (22) and Mia ’30.

Jacqueline Wolborsky 

Wolborsky is Principal Second Violin of the North Carolina Symphony. She has been a Lecturer of Violin at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for more than 10 years, a member of the Charleston Symphony, and an Adjunct Professor of Violin at the College of Charleston. Wolborsky earned her bachelor’s degree from the Oberlin Conservatory, and her master’s from the Cleveland Institute of Music. 

These five individuals join a distinguished group of Trustees whose time and talents continue to serve our school community.
