Six Ravens Recognized in Young Authors Writing Contest

Six Lower School Ravens have been recognized by state judges for their submissions to the North Carolina Reading Association's Young Authors contest.

Congratulations to Elle Warner '26, Gia Giambruno '26, Robert Messier '27, Julia Wickline '28, Reyna Islam Williams '28 and Emme Warner '28. This is Elle's third year being recognized for her writing at the state level.

This year's theme was "What makes your heart lift up?" Students were allowed to write in a genre of their choosing. Ravenscroft entries included poetry and personal essays.

All six students had been announced as winners at the local level and advanced to the statewide competition, which took place Jan. 5. A celebration is planned for Saturday, March 30, in Raleigh.

The NCRA is a nonprofit organization of educators and citizens who have a passion for encouraging literacy. Their Young Authors contest draws submission from students of all ages across the state.
