Six Ravenscroft senior student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to play college athletics on Nov. 13 in a ceremony held in Warner Arena.

Congratulations to these Ravens for this achievement and for their many other accomplishments!

Haley Browne ’25: Cross Country and Track & Field, Boston University (Massachusetts)

Haley is a two-time cross country team MVP (2023 and 2024) and an All-Conference performer in the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference, this year taking the TISAC championship. She placed sixth in this fall’s North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association state meet, earning All-State honors. She was the 2024 spring track team’s Most Valuable Player, and in the 2024 winter season, she was the team MVP and earned All-State honors

Ravens cross country coach Jim Van Veen said, “Haley is the epitome of hard work and dedication. She has consistently improved over the last four years and is going to be a great runner at the next level. I am excited for her as she goes on to this next chapter in her life.”

“I’m so excited to continue my academic and athletic career at Boston University and take running to the next level,” Haley said. “I’m extremely grateful for the support I’ve received from my friends, family, teammates and coaches, as I could not have gotten here without them.”

Jackson Bubar ’25: Swimming, Davidson College (North Carolina)

Jackson is a four-time All-TISAC performer. As a sophomore and junior, he was the TISAC champion in the 100 butterfly and was a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay as a sophomore and 400 freestyle relay as a junior. He’s also a member of two school record-holding teams — in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays — set last season. The 400 freestyle relay time of 3:05.55 earned an Automatic High School All-American time standard.

Ravenscroft swimming coach Greg Warren said, “Jackson has been a solid leader for us over the last few seasons. His strengths are in the butterfly and backstroke events, and he continues to be one of our top performers. He understands the team aspect of swimming, and I know that he’ll take that mindset with him to Davidson. He’ll make a big impact on their program, and I’m excited to see what he does there!"

“I am incredibly excited to formally commit today to swim for Davidson College and continue my academic and athletic career,” Jackson said. “I want to thank my family, friends and coaches at New Wave Swim Club and Ravenscroft School for their support. I also want to thank Davidson Swim Coaches John Young, Chris Carter and Grace Reeder for giving me this enormous opportunity. I feel truly blessed to become a Wildcat!”

Ellie Cronin ’25: Basketball, Colgate University (New York)

Ellie is a two-year letter winner and team captain for Ravenscroft. She was the 2023-24 Team MVP and a TISAC All-Conference selection

“Ellie has been a leader since she stepped on campus last year,” basketball coach Tyson Nargassans said. “Her growth as a player and as a person has been remarkable. I know the team is fully behind her, and I am excited to see her succeed at Colgate University. She has been a joy to coach, and I will miss her.”

Ellie said, “I’m looking forward to continuing my academic and athletic career at Colgate University! I’d like to thank God for all of the blessings He has given me. I am so grateful for my amazing family, coaches, teammates and friends for all their support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. I want to thank the Colgate Women’s basketball staff for the incredible opportunity. Go Gate!”

Drew Davis ’25: Swimming, Bucknell University (Pennsylvania)

Davis is a five-time letter-winner in the pool, a three-time All-TISAC performer, and the 2022-23 Team Most Valuable Swimmer. As a sophomore, he was the 500 freestyle champion and also won the 200 freestyle and as a junior was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay last season. Drew is a member of two relay school records, in the 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay time of 3:05.55 earned an Automatic High School All-American time standard. Outside of school, Davis swims for the Marlins of Raleigh, with whom he is a two-time Scholastic All-American honoree, a two-time record-breaking 800 freestyle relay team member and, with his team, the winner of the Futures Championship meet last summer. Drew qualified for the U.S. Open Championships in July 2024 and is a Junior Nationals qualifier in two events.

Coach Greg Warren said, “Drew has been a great leader for us in and out of the pool. His talents in the freestyle and backstroke have made a huge impact on our program. I’m so excited for him with his decision to attend Bucknell. He’s going to be a great addition to their program, and I have no doubt that he’ll continue to excel in all areas!”

“I am super-excited to swim and study at Bucknell University. I thank my wonderful family, teammates and coaches for supporting me these past several years,” Drew said. “I’d also like to thank the coaches at Bucknell for providing me with this amazing opportunity to pursue my academic and D1 swimming goals.”

Chance Gladden ’25: Basketball, Boston University (Massachusetts)

Chance was an NCISAA All-State selection, All-TISAC Player of the Year, and the 2023-24 team MVP. He is the 2023 John Wall Tournament MVP and holds the John Wall Holiday Tournament single-game scoring record with 57 points vs Southern Durham as well as the most points scored in a Ravenscroft season, with 759. A Jimmy V Classic MVP, Gladden plays outside of Ravenscroft for the Team CP3, a premier AAU team in the state and nation.

“Chance had a magical season last year in our basketball program. Several school records are now his,” Ravenscroft basketball coach Kevin Billerman said. “He is a true point guard who is a great leader who just wants to win. Boston University is getting a great player and outstanding young man. We will miss him in our program. Marcus and Emily have raised a true gentleman and student.”

Chance said of this opportunity, “First, I want to thank my family for being with me every step of the way along my basketball journey, and I am also very thankful for all the coaches at Ravenscroft for everything they have done for me as a young man and basketball player. I’m extremely grateful and excited to have this opportunity of pursuing my academic and athletic career at BU.”
