six students receive honors at spring JV and Middle School sports awards

JV Girls Soccer

The JV Girls Soccer team completed the 2026 spring season with an impressive 12–1–0 record. The team scored in every game, recorded seven consecutive wins, and earned seven shutout victories throughout the season. Several players recorded hat tricks, including one athlete who achieved hat tricks in three consecutive games.

JV Baseball

JV Baseball capped off its season by winning the four-day tournament at the Historic Durham Athletic Park, highlighted by Coach Greg Long’s final game in his 42-year career at Ravenscroft. The game carried special significance as it was played on the same field where Coach Long once competed as a student-athlete at Durham High School (now Durham School of the Arts), alongside an umpire who was one of his former classmates.

JV Tennis

The JV Tennis team showed steady improvement throughout the season, with regular practice leading to better shotmaking, control, and overall consistency. After opening the season with a hard-fought 3–6 loss to St. Timothy’s, the team faced an up-and-down schedule but continued to compete with resilience and sportsmanship. The season highlight came in the final match, when the team earned a 5–4 home victory over St. Timothy’s to avenge its earlier loss and close the season on a strong note.

Middle School Track and Field

With six girls, eight boys, and several athletes also competing at the Middle School, JV and Varsity levels, the Middle School Track and Field team demonstrated tremendous growth throughout the season. Athletes improved across events, achieved personal bests, and consistently supported one another while competing.

Middle School Boys Lacrosse

The Middle School Boys Lacrosse team finished the season with a 6–9 record against a challenging schedule while showing significant growth and improvement throughout the spring season.
