Thirteen Class of 2022 Ravens Recognized for Collegiate Athletic Commitments
College-bound athletes post in their caps and T-shirts

Earlier today, the Athletic Department recognized those Class of 2022 student-athletes who will be continuing their playing careers in college.

The Senior Athlete Celebration took place in the Main Arena of the A.E. Finley Activity Center. Head of School Doreen Kelly and Athletic Director Ned Gonet made opening and closing remarks, respectively, and Assistant AD Jim Gibbons recognized each athlete and announced their plans.

Congratulations to these students for their accomplishments in Ravens athletics and recruitment to the next level:

Sage Bolarinwa ’22 — Baseball, Penn State University

Sage is a three-year letter winner and starter at second base for the varsity baseball team. He will continue his career on the diamond at Penn State Beaver in Monaca, Pennsylvania.

Lindsey Carter ’22 — Basketball, University of Chicago 

A four-year letter winner in basketball for Coach Mike Ramel, Lindsey was recognized as a two-time NCISAA All-State and TISAC all-conference performer. She was the Team MVP this year, averaging a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds a game. She also lettered twice in cross country and once in soccer. Lindsey will play basketball for the Maroons at The University of Chicago.

Tre Crenshaw ’22 — Football, Moravian University

Tre was a two-time letter-winner and 2021 captain for Coach Kevin Billerman on the basketball court. Tre returned to the football team this year as a defensive back and wide receiver for Coach Gonet and was named the 2021 Most Improved Player and Honorable Mention All-Big East Conference. Tre will continue his football career for the Greyhounds of Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA.

Alex Darcy ’22 — Soccer, Fairfield University

Alex played for Ravenscroft’s varsity soccer team her freshman year, when she was the highest-ranked freshman scorer in the NCISAA and helped propel the Ravens to a 14-4 record and an appearance in the NCISAA Semi-Finals. She was named to both the NCISAA All-State and the TISAC All-Conference teams for her achievements. Currently, Alex is leading the team to a 14-0 record with 71 points on 27 goals and 17 assists and leading the NCISAA 4A in all three categories. Alex signed her National Letter of Intent in November to play soccer for The Stags of Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Drake Hamlin ’22 — Football, Georgetown University

Drake has been a four-year varsity letterman for Coach Ned Gonet. A 2021 captain and Coaches Award honoree, Drake was recognized by his opposing coaches as a two-time NCISAA All-State performer and a two-time All-Big East Independent Football Conference team member. Drake has also lettered four times for Coach Sandy Kapatos as a lacrosse attackman. Last spring, he was a captain of the team and won the team’s Most Improved Player award. Drake’s athletic and academic performance was recognized earlier this school year when the Raleigh Sports Club named him their student-athlete of the week at their Nov. 3, 2021, luncheon. Drake will play football for the Hoyas of Georgetown University.

Ryan Hardy ’22 — Swimming, University of Arizona

Ryan was a four-year letter winner for Coach Greg Warren in the pool. He was the 2022 team MVP and is a three-time all-TISAC performer with five individual and five relay event conference championships. He excelled in the backstroke, winning the TISAC Championship this winter and narrowly missing the school record for the 100-yard backstroke. Ryan placed in the Top 5 at the NCISAA meet six times. He is a member of the Ravenscroft school record in the 200 Medley Relay. Ryan will continue his swimming career for the Wildcats at the University of Arizona.

Zoe King ’22 — Track & Field, Carnegie Mellon University

Zoe is an eight-time letter winner in cross country and track & field. On the track, she has earned the Most Improved Award as a ninth-grader and the Coaches award as a junior. Zoe was the 2021 TISAC Triple Jump Champion and placed seventh at the NCISAA State Meet. She also placed fourth in the pole vault and earned a bronze medal for third place in the high jump last spring. She will continue her track & field career for the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon University.

Anthony Melvin ’22 — Football and Baseball, Methodist University

Anthony is a three-sport athlete, lettering in football, basketball and baseball during his time at Ravenscroft. He was a captain of the football team this fall and earned team MVP honors. He was also recognized as an NCISAA Honorable Mention All-State performer. Anthony was also a three-year starter in center field on the baseball team and a member of the basketball team, helping Coach Billerman to two-undefeated TISAC Conference championship seasons. Anthony will play both football and baseball for the Monarchs of Methodist University.

Shane Olander ’22 — Track & Field, Wofford College

Shane is a two-sport athlete, lettering in soccer three times and track & field twice. In soccer for Coach Dan Ressner, Shane helped the Ravens to a 15-6 record and earned All-Tournament team honors at this year’s Ravenscroft Invitational. On the track, Shane was a member of the TISAC 4x100-relay championship team that finished fourth at the NCISAA championship last spring. He is currently ranked in the Top 6 of the TISAC in the 100- and 200-meter dash. Shane will continue his track & field career, running the 100, 200, and 400 for the Terriers of Wofford College.

Ryan Pretzer ’22 — Lacrosse, Swarthmore College

Ryan played three sports during his years at Ravenscroft, earning two letters in wrestling, one in soccer and four in lacrosse. As a junior for Coach Sandy Kapatos, Ryan earned NCISAA All-State and TISAC All-Conference honors and was the Team MVP. Ryan will play Lacrosse at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

Olivia Saxman ’22 — Lacrosse, Temple University

Oliva is a two-sport athlete at Ravenscroft. She lettered four times in lacrosse and, as a junior, earned NCISAA All-State and All-TISAC honors. She also is a three-time letter winner on the volleyball court and was named Most Improved Player as a sophomore and junior. Olivia will play lacrosse for the Owls of Temple University.

Brooke Smith ’22 — Golf, Catholic University

Brooke is a four-year letter winner and three-time Coaches Award winner for Coach Matt Zeblo on the golf team. Brooke earned all-TISAC honors three times. She was a 2019 All-State performer and team MVP that season. Brooke finished her senior year ranked 13th in the NCISAA. She will continue her golf career for the Cardinals of Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

Cole Wright ’22 — Golf, Hampden-Sydney College

Cole is a three-time letter winner for Coach Phillip Shelton on the golf team. Cole was a member of the 2021 TISAC all-conference team. He is currently the No. 2-ranked golfer in the NCISAA 4A classification. Cole will continue his career for the Tigers at Hampden-Sydney College.
