Ravenscroft senior Moriah Evans ’24 signed a National Letter of Intent on April 18 to continue her track & field career at High Point University.
Moriah has long been a standout in the sport, both at Ravenscroft and beyond. She was Ravenscroft’s 2023 Track & Field team MVP and holds several school records. She holds the school record for women’s javelin with a throw of 125.07 in 2023, and, in 2021, was part of two powerhouse relay teams that set new records for the 4x100 and 4x200. She also earned Triangle Independent School All-Conference for the 400M in 2023.
Outside of Ravenscroft, Moriah runs for Track Explosion and is a five-time All-American and two-time AAU National Champion — winning gold for the first time in 2017, when she was just 11 years old.
Ravenscroft’s head track coach Brian Evans said Moriah “encapsulates what it means to be a Ravenscroft athlete: talented, dedicated and with a great attitude. She’s a polymath who will succeed at anything she sets her mind to. I am looking forward to seeing her career flourish and blossom. High Point University is very lucky.”
Moriah said she’s thrilled that she will be able to do what she loves among the Purple Panthers of High Point University. “Being accepted at HPU was like chasing a dream and finding a treasure trove you never even knew was there,” she said.
Congratulations, Moriah!
