Two Middle School Strings Students Secure Spots in Prestigious Junior Eastern Regional Orchestra
JERO Auditions 2026

Ravenscroft is proud to announce that two Middle School strings students have earned highly coveted seats in the Junior Eastern Regional Orchestra (JERO) following a rigorous audition process held on Saturday, March 7, at the Durham School of the Arts.

The JERO auditions are known for their high standards and intense competition. This year, the Ravenscroft team competed against more than 500 students from across the eastern half of North Carolina. The students have been preparing since the beginning of the school year, dedicating significant time outside of their regular class schedules to master the audition repertoire.

Eighth-graders Finn Schafer ’30 and Chris Wilson ’30 both secured positions in the Viola section of the Philharmonia Orchestra. They will represent Ravenscroft’s Fine Arts Department during a specialized clinic and culminating concert at Gray’s Creek High School on Saturday, May 2.

The school recognizes the commitment of all the students who participated in this challenging weekend of auditions:

  • Chloe Fofaria ’32
  • Genevieve Holman ’30
  • Azeem Khan ’30
  • Ananti Patel ’32
  • Eloise Pyle ’30
  • Clara Scruggs ’32
