Whether it’s your first, first month of school, your last, or somewhere in between, this season at Ravenscroft is a time of jittery excitement and joyful reunion. On campus, that energy is settling into a more comfortable rhythm. For some of our youngest students, nervous tears have been replaced with a more confident step in morning carpool. Conversations during Middle School lunch have been buzzing thanks to new, creative seating assignments. Our Upper School students are rediscovering the simple joy of connection without the distraction of cell phones – trading screen time for face-to-face conversation. 

The foundation for a great year, focused on community building, was set with a new conference structure. The individual conferences were held ahead of the first full day of school and were designed for teachers to make personal connections with each student. That process allowed teachers and division leaders to dive deeper into strategies and plans for the year at division Back-to-School Nights. 

Beyond the classroom, our community has already come together in a lot of meaningful and fun ways. Our parent groups hosted two tailgate events to kick off the fall athletics season. The annual New Family BBQ event was another opportunity for those new to the Ravenscroft community to connect with each other. Trustee Emerita and Tara Farm Owner Fran Pugh gave a special welcome at that event, which was moved from Tara Farm to the A.E. Finley Activity Center on campus due to the weather.
