Zhang, Robbins Win 2025 Concerto Competition

Siddu Kamma ’25, Dorian Robbins ’29 and Henry Zhang ’25

On Feb. 26, eight students competed in the Fine Arts Department’s annual Concerto/Sonata/Aria Competition. This competition is for elite performers, who perform one movement from an advanced concerto, sonata or opera, or a work with the same length and level of difficulty.

The competition is optional and is open to all Ravenscroft students, who compete in one of two divisions: Division I students are in ninth through 12th grades, and Division II students are eighth grade or below.

This year’s performers were Dorian Robbins ’29, Carson Hatefi ’28, Grace Parker ’28, Karolyna Huntanar ’27, Rainy Ye ’27, Siddu Kamma ’25, Benya Wilfret ’25 and Henry Zhang ’25.

Dorian Robbins won the Division II competition for their performance of “Souvenir de Serasate” by Potstock. The Division I winner was Henry Zhang for his performance of “Premiere Rhapsodie” by Debussy. An Honorable Mention was awarded to Siddu Kamma, for his performance of “Concertino for Bass Trombone” by Sachse. Well done!

Congratulations to all of these students for their initiative, skill and determination.
