Liz Rogers Biggerstaff '98 and Cherie Fowler, a long-time Ravenscroft coach, have been named to the Sports Hall of Fame and will be inducted on September 24, during halftime of the Homecoming football game.

Biggerstaff played Varsity Basketball, Softball and Soccer. In basketball she scored 1,842 total career points, was twice named the conference Player of the Year, was the 1998 Wake County Sports Club Female Basketball Player of the Year, and concluded her high school career with a 108-8 record, never losing a regular conference game. She was also an All-Conference selection in softball and soccer.

After graduation, Biggerstaff enrolled at Wingate University and continued her athletic successes in both basketball and soccer. She was the winner of Wingate University Joyce Gragg Pipes Award for Female Athlete of the Year, 2001-2002, and she made the All-South Atlantic Conference team three consecutive years and the All-Southeast Region team twice.

In 27 years of outstanding service to the School, Coach Fowler taught physical education, chaired the Physical Education Department, chaired the Chapel Committee, coached volleyball, and advised the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Fowler was a part of many initiatives and activities at Ravenscroft. Many students could be quoted to share endearing stories of how Coach Fowler influenced and enriched their lives.

One alumnus said, "She is a great example and role model for how to live a good, moral life ... I am thankful for the impact she has made on my life." And another said, "The impact of her unconditional love will be present in the Finley Center, Murphy Hall, and on the playing fields for years to come."

Coach Fowler was inducted into the Class of 1862 upon her retirement in May 2006.
